Software developer Boldon James appoints cybersecurity experts IT Governance to resell their Classifier Product Suite.

Crewe, July 25th, 2012 – Boldon James, a wholly-owned subsidiary of leading defence technology and security company Qinetiq has appointed IT Governance Ltd, the global leader in cybersecurity and ISO27001 products and services, to resell their Classifier Product Suite of document classification software as part of the IT Governance portfolio of integrated information security management solutions.

For Boldon James, Chief Executive Officer, Martin Sugden, said: “Classification software is fast becoming a core part of corporate Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies, as more businesses seek to protect their hard-won reputation in the marketplace and comply with security regulation. IT Governance‟s extensive experience of cyber security issues and ISO27001 in particular makes them an ideal choice to market the Boldon James Classifier product suite. We look forward to a productive relationship with IT Governance and their clients.”

IT Governance‟s Chief Executive Officer, Alan Calder, commented, “We are delighted to partner with Boldon James and become an official reseller of their information classification software. We believe that this type of technology will become increasingly important in the future as more companies are recognising the serious business implications of data breaches. Boldon James are pioneers in this field and their product fits in perfectly within our comprehensive portfolio of information security products and services offering an integrated security management solution. ”

Calder continues, “The need for information classification software in Windows® environments, in my view, has never been greater. Hacking and human error that can result in reputational damage are hitting the headlines literally on a daily basis. In this respect, information classification software can play a significant role for preventing human errors and strengthening organisations‟ security defences.”

The Boldon James information classification software products allow organisations to apply relevant classifications (visual & metadata labels/protective markings) to files of many different types. These labels and markings can be used to enforce security policies, raise user awareness of security and orchestrate multiple, on-demand security technologies such as encryption. The Boldon James information classification software will be particularly beneficial for the growing number of companies implementing an information security management system (ISMS) compliant with the framework in the international standard, ISO/IEC 27001:2005.

ISO27001 requires organisations to classify all the information within the organisation and doing this manually can mean it is prone to human errors, for which the organisation is liable. By using the Boldon James information classification software, human errors can be minimised and the process of classifying documents to meet ISO27001 requirements becomes considerably easier to achieve and more efficient.

The Boldon James information classification software can be tailored to the requirements of any organisation regardless of its type and size. The software is provided in five different modules: Email Classifier, OWA Classifier, SharePoint Classifier, Mobile Filter, File Classifier. Organisations can purchase Boldon James information classification software by contacting the IT Governance customer service team today on +44 (0)845 070 1750 or via e-mail to [email protected].
