Boldon James Achieves Dual Certification with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and Data Exchange Layer through Intel Security Innovation Alliance

Classifier Now Certified to Work with McAfee Data Exchange Layer Architecture and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator to Deliver Real-Time Security Monitoring and More Adaptive Security

November 3, 2016 – QinetiQ’s Data security company Boldon James, a leading provider of data classification and Secure Messaging solutions, announced today at the FOCUS 16 event that it has achieved the biggest step to date in the development of their technical integration with Intel Security products; the dual certification of their Classifier data classification solution into the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) and McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL).

As a member of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, Boldon James is delivering on the program mission to accelerate the development of interoperable security products. This latest set of certifications builds on the value already provided to McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) users, introducing real-time insight into classification activity and streamlining policy and incident management through the power of McAfee ePO. Additionally, integration of Classifier with McAfee DXL and McAfee ePO provides actionable intelligence with the capability to initiate critical data loss prevention throughout the line of Intel Security products.

Data classification technology, which empowers user communities to assign value to critical data, is a vital foundational security layer in any organizations’ data security strategy.  Sharing knowledge of data classification activity via McAfee DXL enables a more adaptive security ecosystem by allowing connected security components to share data usage events, allowing for automated reaction and the ability to greatly reduce response time while improving threat containment.

Using McAfee DXL, Classifier can now share events in real-time with products such as the McAfee Enterprise Security Manager (ESM), which can then monitor, correlate and analyse end user classification and data handling. By analysing user activity, McAfee ESM can help detect suspicious behaviour, automatically launching remedial actions to address insider threats.

“A key goal of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance program is to accelerate the development of interoperable security products and simplify the integration of those products within complex customer environments,” said D.J. Long, head of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance.  “Boldon James’ investment in McAfee DXL extends its security risk management platform by sharing data classification activity with other security systems, providing real-time insight and decision making value to customers.”

“We are delighted that our technical excellence and commitment to our technology partners is being recognised with dual certification,” said Martin Sugden, Managing Director of Boldon James.  “By leveraging the insight of those creating and handling information, the users become active contributors to a data loss prevention solution. Knowledge of data classification activity can be easily shared via McAfee DXL and reported through McAfee ePO dashboards, enabling user behaviour to be verified and insider threats to be more quickly identified.”
