IMPART Gateway for Windows - Fujitsu VME Windows Server Connectivity
Our IMPART Gateway server software for Microsoft Windows provides access to VME mainframes and UNIX servers to allow construction of a client-server model for access to UNIX and Fujitsu IPA systems. PCs handle the presentation aspects of the interworking, leaving the IMPART Gateway to multiplex and manage their connections.

- Single Point of Contact - The VME host sees a single point of contact to the network of PCs as the IMPART Gateway shields the VME host from configuration changes within the network of PCs, this can significantly reduce catalogue maintenance on the VME host
- Conserves PC Memory and Processing Power - The PCs connect to the IMPART Gateway running on the Windows system over a simple NetBIOS or RFC 1006 connection, using their existing communications stack; memory and processing power is conserved at the PC as no additional communications stack is required to connect it to the IMPART Gateway
- Multi-function Microsoft Windows Server - In addition to running the gateway, the Microsoft Windows server can act as a file and print server for the network of PCs and is also able to run a range of off-the-shelf and bespoke applications
