Multi-Function Gateway
The Boldon James MFG is an extremely powerful gateway product that offers a full matrix of messaging interoperability transformations as well as additional message processing functionality to enhance interoperability options. The MFG is structured such that users only pay for the functionality that they select from a pick list of capabilities.
Components
- X400 MMHS Gateway - Fully supports the "translation" of messages between any combination of ACP 123, STANAG 4406 (Editions 1 and 2) and the internationally approved ACP 145 standard using functionality described below
- SMTP Gateway - Fully supports the "translation" of messages between S/MIME and MIME using functionality described below
- Digital Security Operations - Provides cryptographic inter-operation between two secure systems. For example, the signatures and encryption from secure messages in the first system are removed allowing the application of signatures and encryption appropriate to the second system
- Multiple Instances - Configures multiple instances of the gateway on the same Server each processing messages in a different way according to a specific address space the message satisfies
- Label Mapping Between Disparate Organisations - For example to take a UK MoD security label and map that to a label that is meaningful to the US DoD and Lockheed Martin
- Label Population - For example to take a machine readable security label held in the S/Mime-ESS Header and copy that to the First Line of Text (FLOT) so that the receiving system, which doesn't support ESS labels, can still display the label
- Address Mapping - In order to hide internal structures or sub organisations from external partners or to add additional information to the address, such as Directory Name (DN)
- Exception Handling - The MFG supports a large number of configurable rules to automatically help process the inevitable number of "non-conformant" messages that will occur when dealing with 3rd party systems
- Non Delivery Reports - Handling and generation to advise users and systems of failed messages
- Alternate Address Redirection - The ability to automatically re-direct problem messages to a support desk or alternative recipient
- Third Party Processing - The MFG architecture makes the message available in XML format such that it can be scanned and processed prior to release or acceptance, for example content and virus checking, automatic archive and audit
