Boldon James secures contract with Australian Customs Service
Australian Customs Service purchases Boldon James SAFEmail and SIM solutions to fulfil labelling and secure messaging requirements of the Australian Maritime Identification System (AMIS)
Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK – 15th February 2008 – Boldon James, a leading provider of secure formal messaging solutions, today announces an order to deliver enhancements to the Border Protection Command’s (a joint Australian Defence and Australian Customs Command) e-mail and instant messaging infrastructures. The deployment will be a key component of the Australian Maritime Identification System (AMIS) as it allows the use of Commercial off the-shelf (COTS) products in this highly confidential environment.
This is the first deployment of a secure instant messaging solution SAFEchat in Asia Pacific and it will be fully integrated with the Boldon James protective marking and labelling suite of secure information products.
AMIS will record information on vessels operating in Australia's maritime approaches. All vessels other than day recreational vessels will be identified, tracked and threat assessed. AMIS will include such information as ship identity, crew, cargo, location, course, speed and intended port of call.
Issues addressed by the Boldon James solution include how secure email, formal and instant messages will be compiled and distributed across government agencies.
