Prioritization: Individual WAN connections can be configured to use a maximum bandwidth per application. Within SAFEMail Accelerator,prioritization of email messages can be controlled based on selected message attributes (e.g.Precedence and size).

How it works

Boldon James have integrated their Microsoft Exchange gateway skills with iOra's best of breed WAN Acceleration technology that provides an Exchange to Exchange link offering typical bandwidth reductions of 80% or more. Messages destined for a single (remote) Exchange server are directed through Boldon James SAFEMail Accelerator (Exchange Gateway). SAFEMail Accelerator extracts the messages and applies configured priority algorithms before passing the (selected) messages onto iOra for publication to the remote location.

iOra publishes the messages using its Epsilon technology, and the SAFEMail Accelerator at the receiving end re-introduces the messages into its associated Exchange server for onwards delivery. Message integrity is guaranteed (including any digital signatures). A mirror image applies to messages, delivery reports and notifications in the opposite direction.

Deployed forces: Deployed military units at sea or in tented cities require an ever increasing volume of email attachments over high cost satellite connections. With SAFEmail Accelerator the peak time bandwidth can be used to deliver high priority messages and attachments with less bandwidth, while still guaranteeing that all emails will eventually be delivered.
Tactical forces: For small numbers of personnel in a battlefield or reconnaissance environments, the need to optimise the available network bandwidth is critical. SAFEmail Accelerator allows high priority email messages to be delivered quickly leaving the lower priority email to be delivered using any additional bandwidth available.

Software Components Include

Microsoft Exchange: The existing messaging system infrastructure at the two ends of the link.
Boldon James SAFEmail Accelerator: Deployed on the Exchange Server at the data centre and remote location to manage and control the delivery of messages.
iOra Master and iOra Replica: Used as a system level replication engine to not only replicate email for SAFEmail Accelerator.
