OSI Transport For Unix
Our ISO Transport is one of the most popular OSI Transport Stacks in the world. Over 50,000 installations in the UK alone demonstrates the reliability, efficiency and robustness. Built from a common code base, the OSI Transport is available under a number of UNIX platforms.

Key Features
As an in-kernel STREAMS module supporting the AT&T defined Transport Provider Interface (TPI) at the top and the DLP/LLI (for Ethernet LAN access) and NPI (for RFC 1006) interfaces at the bottom. It also works with both XTI and TLI.
On Ethernet LAN, support is provided for:
- transport class 4 including the ISO Connectionless Network Protocol (CLNP)
- the ES-IS routing protocol
- configurable LSAPs as permitted by the underlying Link Level
- RFC 1006. Allows OSI communication over a TCP/IP network
- the Fujitsu facility of transport switching, as required by Fujitsu’s multi-processor systems
- the facilities required by TOP NetBIOS for use with LAN manager (e.g. loop-back, multi-cast, multiple local NSAPs, transport datagrams).
