Training course for the installation and configuration of Boldon James suite of software products

With our deep expertise in Military Message Handling Systems (MMHS), Boldon James has developed a range of training solutions to help those organisations engaged in the design, development or delivery of an MMHS. Courses can be tailored to provide high level architectural design overview information through how to configure and install Boldon James suite of products

The course has been designed in modules to enable us to provide the appropriate materials and allow our customers to benefit from the components needed to meet their training requirements. The course is made up of both theory and practical modules which vary depending on the syllabus chosen.

The course can be held in a location to suit your requirements and has two parts, firstly the theory modules and a second workshop session to practice the skills learnt in the previous week. Boldon James is able to deliver the course in a location suitable for your attendees, however considerable value is obtained by having the course at Boldon James headquarters in the UK and this is highly recommended. Each member of the course will be provided with a manual for use during the course and to retain after the course for future reference.

MMHS Training Course – Core Modules

These are the selectable modules that comprise an MMHS Training Course;

MMHS Overview – an introduction to the concepts, terminology and standards of a typical STANAG 4406 MMHS architecture and its constituent components.
Basic system definition and environmental preparation required for implementing a Microsoft Windows/Exchange based MMHS.
Product Overview, Installation and Configuration - SAFEmail.mil (to include Forms, eTracker, Draft and Release, Security Module, P7 transport).
Product Overview, Installation and Configuration - MasterkeyPlus.
Profiling, mail guards and mail list agents.
ACP145 Gateway.
Exchange Bridgehead.
SAFEmail.mil Client Security.
Defence Directory – X.500.
Tactical Messenger (STANAG 4406, Annex E Gateway).

MMHS Training Course – Workshop

This part of the training course will comprise entirely of a practical workshop which will be an instructor led exercise, building on the teaching of the previous core modules, whereby each participant will be given a series of practical exercises in installing and configuring the building blocks of a MMHS.

Course Prerequisites

In order to attend the course a good level of competency and key skills in Microsoft
Exchange and Active directory are required. The use of Microsoft Certified Systems engineers with appropriate qualifications and experience is recommended. This course will not teach the basics of Microsoft Windows, Outlook or Exchange, this knowledge is assumed to be already present. Relevant Microsoft Individual Qualifications include:

Exam 70-2973: Designing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory and Network Infrastructure
Exam 70-285: Designing a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Organisation
Exam 70-2844: Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
Exam 70-2983: Designing Security for a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network
Exam 70-299: Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network

In addition to the skills above, each participant must attend with a laptop computer capable of hosting simultaneous Virtual Machines running:

Windows 2003 Domain Controller and Exchange 2003 Server Enterprise Edition
Windows 2003 Server (not in domain)
Copies of Microsoft Outlook 2003 will also be required.
