Boldon James Releases MasterKey.net

There is universal agreement that the Outlook Web Access (OWA) client available with Exchange 2003 is a huge leap forward in terms of its ease of use and functionality. In fact it is the number one reason organisations are migrating to this latest platform. However, there is one critical feature missing and that is support for the LDAP protocol or, in other words, allowing users to search the organisations white pages directories from OWA. Boldon James are delighted to announce we have closed this critical gap with the release of MasterKey.net.

Out of the box, the OWA clients address book provides access to the Global Address List (GAL) and Contacts, MasterKey.net extends this address book interface to include additional address books searchable via LDAP. As a result you can rollout Exchange 2003’s OWA client secure in the knowledge that your users will still have access to the corporate white pages directory, a standard feature of the Outlook desktop client.

Martin Sugden, CEO at Boldon James commented “By enabling LDAP support from Outlook Web Access MasterKey.net provides a major feature enhancement to the thin client. More organisations can now enjoy increased productivity gains and lower TCO of Microsoft’s OWA client with this critical gap now closed”. Martin further commented “Although it has only been out in the market for a short time it is already on trial at a number of very large central government and commercial organisations both here in the UK and in the US and the feedback indicates that the product is simple to use and robust, it does what it says on the tin”
